RKT is a deliberately small practice, but a growing one. We maintain an open door for engineers whose standard of work makes them genuinely rare, and who want to operate in a team that holds that standard as non-negotiable.
CAD Engineers
Engineers who can build parametric assemblies that survive the third revision. Marine, aerospace, or industrial background preferred. Location-flexible; Cape Town-adjacent a plus.
CAM Programmers
Programmers who can write toolpath strategies that read clean, simulate without warnings, and first-article without rework. Shop-floor experience non-negotiable.
Project Engineers
Engineers who can take prime responsibility for a turn-key programme, scope, schedule, budget, subcontractors, delivery, without losing the technical thread. Minimum 5 years' experience.
Regional Associates
Independent engineers based in key target regions who want to represent RKT locally, on a project-by-project associate basis. Must have demonstrable client network and technical depth.
Speculative Applications
Naval architects, structural analysts, composite specialists, FEA engineers, if you work adjacent to our disciplines and think you'd strengthen the network, send us the brief.
What we actually look for.
Technical depth is the minimum. Everyone we hire can do the work. What distinguishes the engineers we keep hiring is a specific set of dispositions: intellectual honesty about uncertainty, obsession with the handoff from design to production, and written-communication discipline that means every project leaves a clear archive.
We are wary of engineers who are faster than they are careful. And we are uninterested in engineers whose CVs look strong but whose portfolios show work that could be anyone's. Send us work that only you could have done.
